24 HOUR DANCEATHON
On the 9th and 10th of December I am taking part in a 24 hour Danceathon to raise money for our new charity Bayete. Bayete is Ugandan for "help them". This charity at present is looking after 30 vulnerable and orphaned children in the rural region of Mbale in Uganda. These children are suffering from poverty and are struggling to get their basic food and medical needs met. Their current living conditions are very poor and this is causing their general health to be at risk, especially from conditions such as malaria, jiggers and other nasty illnesses which can be simply prevented if they are provided basic items, such as shoes, mosquito nets and blankets to sleep under. Bayete is also feeding these children and for that we have to raise £240 a month in order to do so. We have a bigger vision for this charity and you can read all about this at www.bayete.org, but for now their current needs are desperate and to give these children a fighting chance we need to get them to a baseline where they are healthy and well fed. Please could you support me in this danceathon by sponsoring me to dance. I aim to do the full 24 hours. If you are local to Charlton Kings then you can sponsor me directly, otherwise I have set up a JustGiving page for your convenience if you do not live near me.
I thank you all so much for taking your time to read this. Even if you do not want to sponsor, if you are so inclined I would appreciate your prayers for this event. Thank you very much.
